TECS Francisco Miranda
US Army 751 AAA Btn. Coastal Artillery Command
from:Puerto Rico
Francisco Miranda, my father was a native of Puerto Rico and joined the army because of his love for the U.S. After his serving our country in the U.S. Army, he joined the U.S. Marines and continued to serve our country. I never knew my father as he was always overseas while I was growing up, then my mother and he were divorced. He died at an early age, 44 years old (12/21/26 - 10/31/70), and lived in New York. My family of five brothers and sisters were all raised by my mother in San Francisco. I'm very proud my father served in WWII, that is the only legacy I have from him. I forgive him and my mother for not staying together as a family, but life was hard and we all did the best we could.
