Cpl. Timothy James Rice
US Army 108th Field Artillery Battalion
from:Little Falls, NY
My father Timothy Rice was in 1st Army, 28th Infantry Division, 108th Field Artillery Battalion. His commander was Omar Bradley. My dad died in 1999. He seldom spoke of the war but when he did the stories were heart wrenching. He didn't land in Normandy on D-Day but came in later. He said it was something he'll never forget. The water was red with blood and bodies everywhere. A smell you will never forget. He was in the battle of the bulge and received a Purple Heart. He marched through Paris and mentioned the Ardennes. I wish he was here to tell more. This greatest generation will forever be remembered.
