218446 Frederick Charles Thompson British Army Royal Northumberland Fusiliers from:Tottenham My grandfather Fred Thompson was called up on his 21st birthday in 1939 and served with the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. He went to Italy, North Africa, fought at Dunkirk and many other places, he was awarded the Italy star Africa star, 1939/45 star, the Dunkirk medal, 1939/45 medal, and the Defence medal 1939/45. He was proud to have fought for his country, but his medals were stolen a few years ago at my late uncles house and been told I can't get replacements as he didn't have a crime number, such a shame.
