216691 Gnr. Charlie J Keslake British Army Searchlights Royal Artillery My father Charlie 'Chaz' Keslake was a POW in Stalag VIIIB from 1940-45. He rarely spoke of his experiences as a POW and what little information my family have I will post here in the hope that someone may remember him. Dad was with the Royal Artillery (Searchlights) and was captured at Dunkirk in 1940, spending the rest of the war in Stalag VIIIB. We think he worked as a hospital orderly for a time, and someone taught him to perfect the art of Pitmans Shorthand. We know that after the war he continued to write to Jack Minson from New Zealand and the name W. Bright features amongst his possessions. We would love to hear from anyone who may possibly remember Dad, or from anyone who could provide some insight into his time at Stalag VIIIB.
