212667 Major Gen. Ian David Erskine DSO MID. British Army 2nd Btn. Scots Guards from:St. Clement's House, Sandwich, Kent, England Ian David Erskine fought in the First World War and was Brigade Major of the 1st Guards Brigade between 1935 and 1939. He was mentioned in dispatches twice. He was commander of the 2nd Battalion, Scots Guards in 1940. He was commander of the 22nd Guards Brigade in 1941. He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1941. He gained the rank of Brigadier in 1942. He gained the rank of Major-General in 1945.
