Ft/Sgt Andrew Bell

Royal Air Force 153 Sqn.

from:Old Kilpatrick, Scotland

I believe the picture of this Lancaster crew to have been taken at RAF Scampton in 1945. The pilot, I believe, was F/O Clark and the crew member on the extreme left was my father, Ft Sgt Andrew Bell whose role was that of Air Bomber.

Additional Information:

The Lancaster flight crew consists of the following:- Pilot Flying Officer W. Clark(e) - 3rd from the right, Flight Engineer Sgt V.G. Francomb, Bomb Aimer A.Bell - Far Left, Navigator Flying Officer N. Sear, Wireless Operator Flying Officer C.C. Dorrity, Mid Upper Gunner Sgt. J. Kirkpatrick, Rear Gunner Sgt. Frederick John Ings (1534658) - Far Right

All flew on Mission Operation Manna on 30th April 1945. Believe they also went to Pompeii to pick up POW's and British troops.
