"Big Johnny" Ewings Merchant Marine from:24 Crawford St., Partrick, Glasgow, Scotland I've been searching high and low looking for information about a merchant marine ship that apparently left New York City for Panama possibly in May of 1945. The vessel, according to a letter Mr. Ewings wrote my uncle, was called "the Imperial Transport." I've been trying to find out what happened to this ship and a particular third engineer officer who may have boarded it by the name of John A. Ewings of Glasgow. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have letters the survivors of his family may want to have, including love poems for his wife, Pearl.
