210826 Act Sea Marcel Marsh Royal Navy HMS Fidelity from:Wirral, Cheshire (d.1st January 1943) Hi, my grandfather, Marcel Marsh, served and died on the HMS Fidelity. He was acting lead seaman. If anyone has any pictures or knows of any stories of my grandfather, I would love to hear from you. My mother never got to meet her father - the Fidelity was lost just before she was born - and her mother died shortly thereafter, from the doctor said... ' a broken heart'. Your grandfather was Marcel-Fernand Delandre, alias Marcel Marsh (mispelled Marah in one doc)
He was born on december 3rd 1921 in Creil (département de l'Oise) postal code 60100......

In the French Navy his rank was " Quartier-maître de 1ère classe ".
In the Royal Navy, he was " leading seaman ", RN P/JX 214400.
He died, aged 21 (on HMS Fidelity, 30th december 1942 (or 1st january 1943) sunk by U-435.)
My aunt Madeleine Tirebois and her Husband were "Helpers" (Pat Line,SOE). They had a link with
HMS Fidelity. Arrested on 9th october 1941, deported NN, they died in nazis camps in 1944.
