209417 PO. William Henry Leigh Royal Navy HMS Aurora from:Edmonton, London My father, Bill Leigh, served during WW2 on HMS Aurora and was stationed, at some time, in Malta. A story he used to tell was of getting caught in a munitions dump that blew up. Lucky for him, he grabbed the first passing arm which happened to belong to a local Maltese man who knew the way out! Sadly he died in 1960 so I have very little recollection of him. All I do know was that he was a short man with a swarthy complexion. He spoke some Spanish and he played a Spanish guitar.
