209190 Jesse Ballard Royal Air Force A Whitley bomber crashed into an oak tree on night time training in 1939 I was on guard walking around the perimeter of the airfield at the time and I pulled the rear gunner to safety, I think the rest of the crew perished in the blaze. They told me I would be commended for this I never heard anymore I would like to know who the rear gunner was & hear from anyone else who was there at that time.
