208956 F/O Robert Avery Royal Airforce Volunteer Reserve 104 Sqd. from:Enfield (d.5th May 1944) Flying Officer Bob Avery did some of his pilot training in the US (possibly New York State) around 1942-43. Deployed with 104 Sqn, he was shot down over the Balkans on 5 May 1944. According to CWGC, his grave is in Budapest. He was 21. Bob Avery was a close friend of my father, Bill Martin, when they were teenagers in Enfield. Additional Information: | F/O Avery could have been the pilot on the Wellington, my uncle, F/O Ronald Shaw, was navigator in. He was killed on 5th May and is buried in Budapest. Further to my comments. Bob Avery was the pilot, Sgt F.S.Freeman, Airgunner, Sgt W.A.Jones, W/Op, F/O H. O. Zetland (Czech) are buried in the same Collective grave, 111.E.6-10ron eccles
