As we approached the German village of Linderne, a German Tiger Tank appeared and commenced firing on our group. When they saw our 57 mm anti-tank cannon, they moved their tank behind a brick building. Taking new aim, we hit the building & it fell, on top of the tank!
Richard was awarded the Bronze Star, Infantry Combat Medal and Purple Heart.
