206897 Joiner 3rd Class Reginald Gordon Mort Royal Navy HMS Sirius My father served on HMS Sirius. His name was Reginald Gordon Mort, Joiner 3rd Class, (No: MX74586) and his service record shows him posted to HMS Sirius on 29/01/43 until 20 /09/45. He was wounded in action on 17/10/1943 whilst closed up at action stations while the ship was engaging enemy aircraft. According to his Naval “Certificate for Wounds and Hurts” he was wounded in the head by bomb splinters consequent to a direct hit and several near misses. I appreciate the photos recorded on your web site for the Sirius, and note that I have a number of identical photos inherited from my father.
