Pte. Henry Francis Hudson

British Army Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment

from:Great Crosby, Liverpool

(d.13th Jan 1942)

My uncle Henry Hudson was in Stalag xxb. He was shot in the head by a German for refusing to go to work in a farm. He was 24 years old. He was buried in the camp then later reburied at Malbork War Cemetery. I have a photo of his grave in the camp.

Additional Information:

Harry was my uncle too. I have a letter sent by his friend to my grandmother outlining Harrys death. Its strange how the 'belligerent' gene is passed on. My dad had it,I have it, my son has it and my grandson has it. He was a good boxer "Boy Hudson" I had a boxing medal that had his name on it that I have given to his great great nephew Hudson Doran, from Indianapolis. I still have other items.
