Charles Holmes my husband's uncle. As far as we know - shortly after joining up in 1939 he lost touch with his family. We understand that he left the RAF near the start of WW2, but we are not sure about this. There was some story of him being attached to a propaganda film company in East Anglia, but again, this information is vague. His brother and sister (who would not talk about him) are dead and there is no one else to ask. We are not sure if he was married or if he is still alive and have had great difficulty trying to find out.
I have asked in several places about this photograph but no one so far has been able to identify the badge on his flying suit. I would be thrilled if anyone can tell me anything about him or his possible background at this time.
