205863 Cpl. John William Hall British Army 1st Battalion Middlesex Regiment from:London My father told few tales of his time in the landings and the fighting through France. Many he recalled with tears in his latter years, recalling the horrors he had seen as an 18 year old. He spoke of the bitter fighting around Caen, of mistaken identities and the deaths of his mates.
