205095 Sgt. Charles William Roberts DCM. Royal Marines from:Lyme Regis, Dorset I am trying to trace anyone who knew my partner's Granded, Charles Roberts. He was in the Royal Marines first stationed at Capel Le Ferne in Folkstone and then North Africa. He was then sent to Crete were he was wounded and received the DCM for gallantry in action against the enemy, taken prisoner and to Poland to Lamsdorf POW camp in 1944 he had to endure a 1,000 mile march to another camp. After the war he received his DCM from the King and then joining the Police Force and settling down with his wife Shelagh in Folkstone and then West Malling in Kent. We do have a few pictures and post cards from his pow camp. Anyone who remembers him or have any information regarding the above please drop us a message.
