Sgt. Richard Gower

British Army A Coy., 8th Btn. York and Lancaster Regiment

from:Banbridge, County Down, N. Ireland

Aerogramme

I have very little information on Richard Gower but found a letter from him to my grandparents dated 6th of November 1942. He was stationed in India at the time but the base name is redacted. The letter is in the form of a photograph of the original and is hard to decipher. I cannot be certain even of the name or service number but the letter is signed Dick and the initial of the sender is R, so I assume Richard is correct. The service number definitely ends in 753113 but the first number is hard to read (possibly 4).

Information in the letter is mainly greetings to my family members and a desire to be back in Ireland, plus complaints about the heat of India.
