In the process of researching my family tree, my father mentioned about an uncle that was killed in WW2. My dad mentioned something about his tank being hit with an anti tank round and killing him. George Groat served with 116th (9th Btn. The Gordon Highlanders) Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps. Aged 23, he was killed on 26th or 27th of February 1945 and is remembered on the Rangoon Memorial.
