Pte. Albert Jennings

British Army Leicestershire Regiment

from:Mansfield, Nottinghamshire

This information is all I have of my grandfather Albert Jennings's service. I do know he was a miner at Sherwood Colliery, Mansfield before the 2nd World War. I also heard he did some training at Chilwell Barracks, Nottinghamshire. He also served on the Channel Islands, and spent some time in Ireland with his mate Tommy (sorry, no last name). From what I'm told, he started out as an officer's batman, was a cook in the Army, and was involved with physical training. I do know that he boxed for his Regiment, from what I recall, he fought at bantam-weight.
