Charles Bevis enlisted in the Royal Sussex Regiment in Febuary 1933 as a driver in Chichester, West Sussex. He was posted 3 times not readable. This is the following from his records; Home 20.3.33 to 12.9.34 India 13.9.34 to 26.10.35 Egypt 27.10.35 to 17.3.36 Sudan.18.3.36 to 11.12.36 Jerusalem.12.12.36 to 13/10/37 Egypt 14.10.37 to 28.7 41, 12.5.41 admitted to hospital discharged hospital 15.5.41. Home 29/7/41 to 16/7/44 NWE 17/7/44 to 27 10/45 Home 28/10/45 to 31/1/46 Class z reserve 1.2.46 He was awarded the following Campaign Medals, Palestine 1936 to 1939, General Service Medal with clasp, British War Medal 39-45, Africa Star, Defence Medal 1939/45 and the France/Germany Star.
