Perce Carter British Army Dorsetshire Regiment from:Abertridwr, Wales (d.6th Jun 1944) I met my uncle Perce when he came home just before D-Day, as I was evacuated from Sevenoaks in Kent to my grandmothers home in Wales. Some weeks later, I witnessed my grandmother receiving the lost-in-action telegram some weeks later. A witness to his death during the D-Day landing on Gold Beach told us he was killed by a land mine. He is buried in a military grave in France.
