L/Cpl. Thomas George Brind

British Army 4th Btn. Coldstream Guards

from:Southampton

(d.15th April 1945)

My great uncle Tom, Thomas Brind, was my grandmother's brother. He served with the 4th Battalion, Coldstream Guards in WW2. My grandmother said he had been killed in the war but never spoke about him.

He died 15th of April 1945 aged 33 years and is buried in the CWWGC cemetery in Hanover, Germany. We went there 7th of April 2019 to pay our respects as the only members of the family to ever visit him. His family were all from the East end of London. I don't know why or when he moved to Southampton. Tom was a plumber by trade and joined up in 1940 and was sadly killed 3 weeks before the end of the war.
