Our father, Joseph Donald Walker, born in 1916 joined the British Army on 31st December 1934 aged 18. He served in the 317th Searchlight Battery, RA and in the 40th Searchlight Regiment, RA. He was involved in the liberation of Norway and received a certificate from Olav, King of Norway for the liberation dated 8th May 1945.
