Charles Cannon was killed on active service in Germany on 27th Nov 1946. It is believed he had been crushed and injured when a truck carrying wooden planks or telegraph poles shed its load (or reversed into him) with the load possibly penetrating the truck cab and killing Charlie.

Charlie played the trumpet or cornet and may also have been a Fusiliers bandsman.
