Robert Halsall, know as Harry, joined 129th Battery, Royal Artillery with his brother John Roy Halsall. They both fought in Crete, Robert was killed in action and John was taken prisoner, he was a POW in Stalag IV-F in Harmannsdorf be Cheminitz until March 1945. Robert was Mentioned in Dispatches. He is remembered on the Athens Memorial. His twin brother, William Karran Halsall joined a different unit and survived the war.
