Class 232 HMS Royal Arthur. Bill Coulson is 2nd row from bottom, 4th left.

Bill Coulson joined RN in Autumn 1941 and trained as a coder. In September 1942 he was posted with Lord Mountbatten's combined OPs HQ to North Africa. Later posted to HMS Lamerton and at Battle of Monte Casino and Anzio landings. He was invalided home in 1944 on RMS Franconia.
