Sgt. Alexander Sandilands

Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve 148 Squadron

from:Edinburgh

(d.5th Aug 1944)

A photograph was found in my Father's old papers of Alexander Sandilands. I don't know where they met, but Dad served 1939 in Libya and Egypt and later in the war at Ashbourne near Darley in Derbyshire. I know from the photograph and a little research that Sgt Sandilands was lost over Krakow and is buried in Krakow Rakowick Cemetery. It seems fitting to me to pass this information on in his memory.
