Sgt. William George Eccles

British Army 46 Commando Royal Marines

from:Flint, Flintshire, North Wales

My father William Eccles served with 46 Commando and was mentioned in a letter from Major General Keller to Brigadier Leicester congratulating the excellent work carried out by 46 Commando under the command of Lieut. Col Hardy in and along the river line (Rots and Rosel). My father was injured en route to Caen and brought back to the UK by Dakota. I have very little information about this attack.
