Ord.Sea. Thomas Dixon Fletcher
Royal Navy HMS Drake
from:Liverpool
(d.18th October 1944)
Thomas Fletcher was 26 years old when he died on 18th October 1944. He was based at HMS Drake.
He was the son of John Fletcher and Agnes Fletcher (nee Rigby) from Liverpool and was the husband of Annie Fletcher (nee Bell) of Liverpool.
I don't know how he died.
He was my great uncle, my grandfather's youngest brother. He was the namesake of my grandfather's Uncle Thomas Dixon Fletcher who died serving in the Army in WW1 aged 22.
He has only a memorial, no grave as does my Grandad's son John Dixon Fletcher whose plane went missing and he was presumed dead in WW2 aged 19.
Three generations from the same family, in the Army, Navy and Air Force all lost their lives serving their country. RIP .
