Able Sea. Francis Bruce "Jock" Douglas

Royal Navy

from:Rubislaw, Aberdeen.

My father Francis Douglas, signed up to join the Royal Navy at the age of 14 in his home city of Aberdeen in 1933. The next dates we know of is of him registering as an Ordinary Seaman at or on HMS Drake on 8th of Feb 1938. We do not know where he was stationed between these dates. Perhaps someone has a memory of my father from this time. My father also served on HMS Terror when she was sunk near Libya on 24th February 1941. Again any recollection or information of this incident would be appreciated. Father survived the war, discharged in Liverpool where he met and married my mother. He passed away in 1988.
