L/Cpl. John Wilson Linstrum

British Army 1st Battalion Cameron Highlanders

from:Glasgow

Jackie Linstrum is my late Father who enlisted in 1931 and with the British Expeditionary Force to France, where he was taken prisoner and spent 5 years as a prisoner of war.

He would never talk about his time as a POW and I have been researching his time in the service with help from my cousin. I know he sailed on the HM Troopship Nevassa to India and was also in the Sudan early in his army career from 1934 to 1939 and went to France 29th of September 1939 with the B E F. Other than that I am still researching his service to King and country. I am now 70yrs old and still hoping to find more about his ordeal.
