My dad Ted Wood joined in 1943 almost 17 years of age. He served on HMS Pembroke and HMS Dido as well as others. Dad never really talked about the battles but always the friendships and the scrapes they got into on shore leave. Dad always wanted to go back to the Greek Islands but never managed it, he died in 1979 at the age of 53.
