Dad, George Fisher was 18 years old in 1944 and I always wondered how he ended up in a Scottish Regiment. I have read that some Lancashire regiments were incorporated into others about that time. Dad mentioned he had ice skated on the River Rhine, so maybe he was part of Operation Overlord.
