Bdr. George Henry Brown

British Army 190th Field Regiment, 230th Battery Royal Artillery

from:London

The battery landed at Port-en-Bessien in support of 15th Scottish Division, I drove the first gun through the sea, onto the beach, where the Battery went into action. Whilst still on the beach the men were called together for Montgomery to brief us. Remembering him saying that the enemy had honoured us by placing all his armoured units in front of us. I remember thinking some honour!
