Gnr. Allan Baird

British Army 28th Field Regiment Royal Artillery

from:Airdrie

My late father, Allan Baird was a POW in Stalag 4F, Hartmansdorff. He never spoke about this and I only have the bare bones of his story. He was injured in Africa, imprisoned in Italy, escaped, was re-captured and transported to Hartmansdorff where he worked in the mines. He tried to escape again, was placed in solitary confinement.

If anyone has information or can tell me where to get information, please get in touch.
