244881 Pte. Thomas Michael Flood British Army 1st Btn. Middlesex Regiment from:Hackney, London My father, Thomas Flood, was born in Tipperary Ireland. He moved to London in his late teens. He joined the British Army (a thirty-niner) and was dispatched to Europe, was at Dunkirk and I have his membership to the now ceased association. After Dunkirk he was moved about a reasonable bit, then was assigned to the Middlesex Regiment. He was at the Battle of Normandy, they eventually got to the Belsen Prisoner of War camp and witnessed the liberation of the prisoners, the horrific treatment they received and eventually the end of the war.
