P/O. Frederick Richard Sanderson

Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve 78 Squadron

(d.28th Aug 1943)

Fred Sanderson was my cousin. He was an Air Gunner and may, I think, have been killed on a mission to bomb Nuremburg. I know that he is buried in Durnbach War Cemetery but would be very grateful for any information it is possible to get about exactly how he died.

There are no direct descendants of the Sanderson branch of the family. His father's generation were lost in WW1 and I am still trying to ascertain the fate of his brother, John Henry Sanderson. Thank you for your help.
