My great grandfather, William Kelly, served in Tobruk and El Alamein. He has four medals awarded one was in 1960 Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), Military Division, Army, Captain William Kelly (379383), Corps of Royal Engineers. I also know on the 27th April 1947- he was made a 2nd Lt, as referenced in the London Gazette- 14064223- William Kelly (379383) He worked in the Royal Engineers and was from Glasgow, Scotland. He was well known for how handsome he was, almost movie star good looks.
