Capt. Archibald John Fleming

British Army 18 Mobile Workshop Company Royal Indian Army Ordnance Corps

from:Saltcoats, Ayrshire

(d.21st June 1942)

Archie, a motor engineer to trade, will be in the photo of the Saltcoats Motor Company, we just don't have anyone that can positively identify him. His father, John, is far right.

Archibald Fleming lived in Saltcoats where his father, John, my great, great grandfather, ran a successful garage business. Archie worked for him as a motor engineer to trade. He died at Tobruk on 21st June 1942 and was initially listed as missing. He is interred, but now lies in the Tobruk War Cemetery.
