WO1. John Lines

British Army 10th Hussars Royal Armoured Corps

from:Birmingham

(d.10th Jun 1940)

WO1 John Lines was my mother's first husband, I don't know his story but but I'm told he went to Dunkirk, was sent on a special mission with 7 other NCO's. They were ambushed and shot. Their graves are in a small village St. Pierre-du-Vauvray near Rouen and Evreux in France. I have visited the cemetery and was impressed with how well kept the 8 graves were. I only wish I had noted the names of the other soldiers lying there.
