Gnr. Edward Newell

British Army 61st LAA Regiment, 197th Battery. Royal Artillery

(d.14th November 1942)

Edward Newell is my nan's uncle. He was a gunner in the Royal Artillery who died in 1942. He is commemorated on the El Alamein Memorial as he was missing in action, although on some records it lists him as buried at sea. Also, his theatre of war is on some records listed as at sea. Unfortunately, we do not know much about him, but that isn't for lack of trying.
