Pte. William Henry Sore

Britsh Army 4th Btn. Green Howards

from:Newcastle

(d.25th December 1943)

It is believed that when William Sore's battalion was overrun he was taken prisoner and was moved to Italy: Prison Camp PG 53 Sforza Costa. When the Italians changed sides he took the opportunity to escape. He was reported missing, then the family were informed he had died before or after the 25th December 1943. He has no named grave.

I am trying to trace anyone who knew or served with William Henry Sore on behalf of his family. Any information that can be given will be gratefully received.
