Cpl. Arthur John "Dickie" Bird

Royal Navy Portsmouth Royal Marine Commando, "G" Coy

from:5 Anglesey Road, Enfield, Middx.

Several medals were lost during house move in early fifties. My father was first a Marine, then corporal then sergeant. He was unlucky on HMS Manchester and HMS Ark Royal.

My father, Dickie Bird, was a very brave man and did the best he could in another pointless war along with all the other men and women who fought for their country and freedom for their helpless families.
