Pilot Officer (Navigator) Doyle is buried in the family plot in the Greystones (Redford) Cemetery, Greystones, Co. Wicklow, Ireland.

He was recorded as the pilot/navigator of a Wellington Mark X bomber, MF 200, which crashed while on a training exercise for night flying.

Douglas Doyle was based at 28 Operational Training Unit Based at RAF Wymeswold, near Loughborough, Leicestershire.
