Flt.Sgt. Hugh Douglas MacPhee

Royal Canadian Air Force 129 Squadron

from:Hopewell, N.S.

(d.4th May 1942)

Doug MacPhee was my mother's favourite cousin. His brother Red served in the Canadian army and survived the war. Sadly, Doug went down over the English Channel and was never found. The family held out hope until he was officially listed as killed in action after several years. It is my understanding that he was killed not long after being posted.
