Lawrence Martin

2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force 27th MG Battalion

from:New Zealand

My father, Lawrie Martin, NZ 27 MG Battalion was captured Crete 22 May 1941. He was attached to E565 working party for a short time before being sent to Milowitz E535. While he was at E565 he lost a fried called Peter Hidden. Peter was buried in the local cemetery and then transferred to Radowicki Cemetery, Cracow. I am doing some research into Dad’s activities during his time as a POW. In his collection of photos is a copy of a picture taken of Peter Hidden’s grave. (4th January 1944). I wonder if anyone can recall either my father or Peter Hidden. I am particularly interested in the circumstances of Peter’s death. If you are able to offer any assistance I would be pleased to hear from you.
