Sgt. Thomas George Goodwin
Royal Air Force 106 Squadron
from:Stepney, London
(d.7th Sep 1943 )
Tommy was an uncle, my father's much loved brother whom I never met as I was born in 1951. My late father was serving in Egypt and the Middle East when he heard the news, so we know little of his service history. I have traced two Thomas Goodwins, one was with 106 squadron which operated Lancasters and I understand Tommy was a tail gunner in a Lancaster. The other Thomas Goodwin was with 78 squadron who I understand operated Halifax Bombers, hence I think he was in 106 squadron .
I understand he was lost over the Black Forest, shot down on his way home
