John Fitzpatrick

British Army

from: Birmingham

My uncle John Fitzpatrick was wounded at Dunkirk. My parents did not tell me that he had served in the British Army and I only learned of it from his sister, who was an American Nun. John was born in Clonmore (near Templemeore) in County Tipperary, Ireland circa 1912. He emigrated to Birmingham and worked in the building industry. He must have joined the British Army prior to WWII. He died suddenly over twenty years ago and I have sadly got no details of his army records other than the fact that he was wounded in Dunkirk. I would appreciate if someone could tell me which regiment he was with or indeed any other details about him.
