Sgt. Francis Reginald "Blondi" Jones

Royal Air Force flight engineer 1656 Heavy Conversion Unit

from:Northover, Scholes, Nr Leeds

(d.3rd Sept 1944)

I would like to try to trace any relatives of my Uncle's Halifax crew, and find any information about the flight crew. My uncle was Reg Jones, the flight engineer, he was the only English crewman, the rest of the crew were Australians.

Halifax JD417, crashed into a hillside in North Wales, very close to RAF Landwrog, in bad weather while on a training flight, 3rd September, 1944 and all were lost. I believe the pilot was P/O L. Walker, RAAF.
